King Charles III Visits Rome in Italy State Tour

King Charles III and Queen Camilla embarked on a four-day state visit to Italy, celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary and strengthening military ties between the two countries. A flypast by the Red Arrows and Frecce Tricolori marked the occasion, featuring both nations’ flags as a symbol of cooperation.

Upon arrival, the royal couple was greeted warmly by Italian President Sergio Mattarella at the Quirinale Palace. The visit marks a significant event in Italy’s history, with the King and Queen meeting Lord Llewellyn, the UK’s ambassador to Italy, for their first engagement.

During their stay, the royal pair will attend a ceremony at the Colosseum and engage in discussions on Ukraine, highlighting the importance of alliances in changing Europe. The visit comes after the King’s recent hospitalization due to cancer treatment, where he appeared in good spirits.

On Wednesday, the King will deliver a historic address to both houses of the Italian Parliament, marking the first time a UK monarch has done so. The couple will also celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary at a state banquet, attended by politicians and celebrities.
