King Charles Jokes About Cancer Treatment Amid Upcoming Christmas Engagement

King Charles, 76, and Queen Camilla attended a reception in east London to celebrate community cohesion on December 20, just hours before announcing that his cancer treatment will continue into next year. The monarch quipped about endurance when asked how he was feeling.

At the event, Harvinder Rattan, a Sikh faith representative, asked King Charles, “Your Majesty, good morning, how are you?” In response, the King joked, “I’m still alive,” which made Rattan chuckle. The remark came as palace sources confirmed that the King’s cancer treatment will extend into next year, but is moving in a positive direction.

The King and Queen’s latest outing marked their final engagement before Christmas. Their busy schedule includes future trips around the UK and abroad. The royal couple met community volunteers, young people, emergency service personnel, and faith representatives at the event, celebrating Waltham Forest’s strong sense of community following a peaceful anti-racism protest in August.

The King and Queen Camilla have been supporting various initiatives in recent weeks, including meeting with the public and attending events. Their upcoming Christmas celebrations will be spent at Sandringham with other members of the royal family.
