King of the Hill Season 14: A Fresh New Chapter for Arlen’s Beloved Characters

A brand new season of King of the Hill has arrived, and fans can finally see how their favorite characters have evolved over time. Exclusive concept art reveals that Bobby Hill, now 21, is all grown up and working as an executive chef at Robata Chane in Dallas.

In an interview with IGN, Executive Producer and Co-Creator Greg Daniels discussed the challenges of aging up Bobby, who was deemed the most difficult character to create anew. Daniels revealed that they explored various looks for Bobby, including different hairstyles, beards, and even earrings, before settling on his 2025 appearance.

The new season of King of the Hill takes place 15 years after the original finale and sees the return of familiar characters, including Joseph and Connie. However, in stark contrast, The Paper, another show created by Daniels, debuts with entirely new characters, including Oscar.

When asked about the similarities between his two shows, Daniels highlighted the importance of tone and storytelling. Both King of the Hill and The Paper feature relatable, observational comedies with twists and turns, but their narrative arcs differ significantly.

In Season 14’s premiere episode, Hank Hill admits to watching Fox News during CNN commercial breaks while living in Saudi Arabia. This storyline is rooted in Hank’s conservative upbringing and his struggle to adapt to modern life.

The decision to send Hank and Peggy to Saudi Arabia was made to appeal to Hank’s traditional sensibilities. Daniels noted that the location provided a sense of comfort and normalcy for Hank, allowing him to react to changes since the show ended.

Season 14 of King of the Hill is now streaming on Hulu, offering fans a fresh new chapter in Arlen’s beloved characters’ lives.
