The Sacramento Kings continue to struggle with turnovers, a trend that has plagued them since trading De’Aaron Fox to the San Antonio Spurs. The problem was evident once again on Friday night as they suffered a 132-106 loss to the Golden State Warriors at Golden 1 Center.
Despite a strong performance from guard DeMar DeRozan, who scored 34 points, the Kings were unable to overcome their turnovers. They committed a season-high 24 turnovers, which allowed the Warriors to score 38-5 on points off turnovers.
The Kings’ struggles with turnovers have been a concern since Fox’s departure. The team has fallen to 10th in the Western Conference play-in race and are now 28th in the NBA in turnovers per game.
Domantas Sabonis led the way for the Kings, posting his league-leading 50th double-double of the season with 14 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists. However, it was not enough to overcome their mistakes on offense.
The Warriors were led by Buddy Hield and Moses Moody, who scored 22 points apiece. Jimmy Butler also had a strong game, scoring 17 points and seven assists.
The Kings will look to bounce back from this loss when they host the Charlotte Hornets on Monday.
