Nintendo has released a video showcasing the brand new Star-Crossed World expansion for Kirby and the Forgotten Land, a highly-acclaimed Switch game. The DLC is available exclusively on the more powerful Switch 2 console, which can also run at smoother framerates.
The base Switch version of Kirby and the Forgotten Land will be capped at 30fps, but the Switch 2 version promises to deliver a solid 60fps framerate, making it a welcome upgrade for players. The expansion’s updated gameplay footage shows impressive performance enhancements, including improved graphics and higher resolutions in tabletop and handheld modes.
The new Star-Crossed World is triggered by a sudden meteor impact, which unlocks altered stages that require completion to access the final content. The DLC includes new paths, enemies, transformations, collectible figures, and an even harder boss rush mode called Ultimate Cup Z EX.
While some may feel that $20 is steep for the expansion, considering the base game can be played on any Switch console, the upgrade seems worth it given the enhanced performance and new content. Kirby and the Forgotten Land – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Star-Crossed World will arrive in stores and on the Nintendo digital storefront on August 28.
