Knicks Edge Bulls 113-111 in Overtime Thriller

The New York Knicks edged the Chicago Bulls 113-111 in overtime Thursday night, improving to 36-18 following their All-Star break hiatus. Karl-Anthony Towns led the way with 32 points and 18 rebounds, while Jalen Brunson added 22 points and 12 assists.

Mikal Bridges contributed 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Knicks, who won despite being without Josh Hart due to knee pain and OG Anunoby missing his sixth consecutive game with a sprained right foot. The Bulls, meanwhile, lost their fifth straight game behind 27 points from Josh Giddey and 21 points from Nikola Vucevic.

The game seesawed back and forth in overtime before the Knicks pulled away. After a 3-pointer by Giddey opened the extra period, the Knicks responded with a 9-0 run highlighted by three consecutive baskets from Towns. The Bulls attempted to force a second overtime but ultimately fell short when Vucevic’s 8-foot jumper over Landry Shamet expired at the buzzer.

The win marked the Knicks’ third straight and ninth of their last 11 games, with their next opponent being Eastern Conference-leading Cleveland on Friday.
