Koei’s Obscure Classics Added to Nintendo Switch Online SNES Library

Nintendo is adding some unusual titles from its partner Koei to the SNES library on Switch Online, starting March 28. The additions include Nobunaga’s Ambition, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Lord of Darkness, Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire, and Uncharted Waters: New Horizons.

These games may not be familiar to many players due to their unique blend of military tactics and business simulation elements. In Nobunaga’s Ambition and Romance of the Three Kingdoms, you play as a lord managing an empire from afar, competing with neighbors and building armies to conquer territories. The gameplay can be engaging for fans of strategy games, but the menus and screens can be tedious.

On the other hand, Uncharted Waters: New Horizons offers a more varied experience, with naval combat, trading, treasure hunting, and cartography. While its presentation may feel dated, the game still features great music and graphics. Fans of Koei’s genre may want to try these titles to see if they suit their taste.

The additions are part of Nintendo’s efforts to make lesser-known games available to new players through Switch Online. With the upcoming release date in mind, Nintendo has released an announcement trailer for the new library additions.
