K-Pop Demon Hunters’ soundtrack has taken the ARIA Charts by storm, setting a new record as the biggest chart-topper from an animated movie since its inception in 1983. The show’s musical counterpart, “Golden,” retains the top spot on the ARIA Singles Chart for the third consecutive week, while other tracks from the compilation remain in the top 10.
The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) has confirmed that K-Pop Demon Hunters is now a record holder, surpassing previous chart-toppers like Trolls and Frozen. The show’s success has also led to an exclusive screening of its “Sing-Along Version” at HOYTS cinemas across Australia and New Zealand.
Meanwhile, Conan Gray’s new album “Wishbone” takes the No. 2 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart, while Jordan Davis’ single “Learn The Hard Way” debuts at No. 9. Australian deathcore act Justice For The Damned returns to the top 40 with their latest release “Stay Relentless,” and Mama Kin Spender makes their chart debut with “Promises.”
Taylor Swift’s upcoming album “The Life Of A Showgirl” has sent a flurry of activity on the charts, with several of her albums re-entering the rankings. The Tortured Poets Department leads the way with an impressive climb up the ARIA Albums Chart, followed by Folklore and Lover.
In other news, Crowded House’s 1986 classic “Don’t Dream It’s Over” continues to reign supreme, holding its spot at No. 5 on triple j’s hottest 100 list. The track has been certified nine times platinum and remains a fan favorite.
