The 136th Rose Parade, presented by Honda, took place on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2025. The event celebrated the theme “Best Day Ever!” with a star-studded lineup of musical guests, including Aloe Blacc, Kiesza, Betty Who, and Debbie Gibson.
Billie Jean King, a sports icon and equality champion, was honored as the parade’s Grand Marshal. Newly-installed President Ed Morales expressed his support for the theme, saying it celebrates life’s most joyful moments.
The Rose Parade is an annual tradition that attracts millions worldwide. It features 5½ miles of Colorado Blvd., with floral-covered floats, marching bands, and equestrian units. Many participants have deep connections to the Tournament of Roses and preserve its rich traditions.
Since its inception, the parade has evolved significantly, from initial draws of 3,000 spectators with horse-drawn carriages to today’s technological marvels adorned with flowers and natural materials.
