The Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball team has finalized its 2025-26 Big 12 Conference opponents. With 16 teams in the league, this season will see a reduction from last year’s 20 games to 18. The decrease is due to the conference’s size change from 10 to 16 members.
To achieve a balance of travel and competitiveness, the team’s opponents were selected strategically. Kansas State and Iowa State will continue to face KU in home-and-home series, while Arizona will also participate in these matchups. However, some rivalries have been diminished. For instance, the Jayhawks will only host Houston at Allen Fieldhouse this season.
Additionally, Darryn Peterson, KU’s top recruit, will only compete against high school rival AJ Dybantsa (BYU) once during the regular season. The team’s new opponent list has been categorized into home and away games:
Home: Baylor, BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, TCU, and Utah
Away: Arizona State, UCF, Colorado, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and West Virginia
This schedule adjustment reflects the changing landscape of the Big 12 Conference.
