Kyle Busch Re-signs with Richard Childress Racing for 2026 Season

Richard Childress Racing has picked up the option on Kyle Busch’s contract, ensuring the two-time Cup Series champion will remain with the team for the 2026 season. The move comes amid a 70-race winless streak for Busch, who has won 63 Cup Series races since joining the circuit in 2003.

Despite his recent slump, Busch remains optimistic about the team’s chances of turning things around. “It’s a great place to work and a great atmosphere,” he said. “There is a lot of determination there from a lot of people [to win].”

Team owner Richard Childress acknowledged that the organization let Busch down in 2024, but expressed confidence that they can improve their performance. “We have a lot of good things going,” he said.

Busch, who has struggled to find consistency this season, hopes to finally secure his next victory soon. “I’m excited for the next win whenever that is,” he said.

The decision not to let Busch leave the team comes with a promise of potential long-term extensions in the future. Childress described Busch as having a “big future” with RCR. Busch, who has ruled out retiring from racing until his 10-year-old son Brexton is old enough to follow in his footsteps, is eager to continue competing at the highest level.

Busch will face off against former winner Kyle Busch at the upcoming Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, a track where he won in 2018.
