Kylian Mbappé Discharged from Hospital, To Resume Training Soon

Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has been discharged from the hospital after being admitted for acute gastroenteritis. The French star missed their Club World Cup opener against Al Hilal due to illness and hasn’t trained in recent days.

According to Real Madrid, Mbappé will continue with specific medical treatment and gradually return to team activity. He had scored 43 goals in all competitions last season but was part of a disappointing campaign for the club.

Mbappé first trained with new coach Xabi Alonso last Friday after featuring for France in the UEFA Nations League. However, he was absent from the open training session due to fever and left out of the matchday squad for Wednesday’s draw against Al Hilal.

Youngster Gonzalo García started at center forward and scored the opening goal, while Federico Valverde missed a penalty chance in added time. Real Madrid are aiming to win their first trophy under Alonso, with additional signings Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold joining the team.
