Kyrie Irving Sidelined with Knee Injury vs Kings

Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving has suffered a left knee sprain during Monday’s game against the Sacramento Kings and will not return. Irving was helped off the court after driving to the basket, struggling to put weight on his leg. The injury occurred just days after he underwent surgery for a broken hand sustained during an offseason workout.

Irving has dealt with several injuries this season, including a bulging disc in his back that had him expected to miss at least one or two weeks. However, when healthy, the 32-year-old is one of the best perimeter playmakers in the league, averaging 25.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game.

With Irving sidelined, Spencer Dinwiddie, Dante Exum, and Jaden Hardy are expected to see increased playing time for the Mavericks.
