A quarter-acre brush fire broke out in Canyon Country on Friday morning after starting as a structure fire, officials said. The Los Angeles County Fire Department was alerted at 10:41 a.m. to reports of a building fire at the 20000 block of Dorothy Street. Firefighters arrived shortly after and worked to control both the structure and brush fires. By 10:56 a.m., they had stopped forward progress, and no injuries were reported as of publication time.
