The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is thrilled to receive $94.3 million in mobility-related funding from Congress, earmarked for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This critical funding will support key projects such as final design and engineering for key station improvements, mobility hubs, and light rail upgrades.
LA Metro Chair Fernando Dutra praised the bipartisan effort that secured this funding, thanking California’s Congressional delegation and the US Department of Transportation team. The $94.3 million will enable LA Metro to advance its Games Enhanced Transit System, including planning, design, and construction for temporary facilities, station enhancements, and pedestrian improvements.
The additional funding in the bill supports other initiatives, such as World Cup 26 transportation assistance, bus stop upgrades, transit safety funding, and the Vermont bus rapid transit line.
