The sports community of Los Angeles has rallied together to support victims of the recent devastating fires in the region. Twelve professional sports organizations, including Angel City FC, the Angels, Chargers, Clippers, Dodgers, Ducks, Galaxy, Kings, LAFC, Lakers, Rams, and Sparks, have pledged a combined donation of over $8 million to support those affected by the fires.
The teams’ contributions will be distributed among various charities, including the American Red Cross, Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, California Fire Foundation, and local animal rescue organizations. In addition, the teams are partnering with Fanatics to distribute $3 million worth of merchandise, as well as thousands more items at three upcoming events.
The “LA Strong” collection of t-shirts and sweatshirts, launched by Fanatics in partnership with the sports leagues, will also benefit the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the American Red Cross. Fans can purchase these limited items on fanatics.com/lastrong.
In a show of solidarity, teams are continuing to support fire victims, frontline workers, and impacted communities through their own foundations and partnerships with local organizations. The Los Angeles sports community is demonstrating its commitment to being present for the communities that have supported them so strongly during this difficult time.
