Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has confessed that he’ll be watching Beyoncé’s Christmas halftime show at the Texans’ game instead of focusing on the match. When asked if he was disappointed not to see the performance in person, Jackson replied that he’d rather observe Beyoncé for the first time during the break.
Jackson stated he’s “not even thinking about the lead” and just wants to see Beyoncé perform her song ‘To the left.’ Ravens coach John Harbaugh expressed amusement at his player’s priorities but assured that focus would remain a priority. Jackson is not the first player to prioritize entertainment over gameplay, following in the footsteps of Cincinnati Bengals Evan McPherson and Clark Harris who watched Super Bowl 56 halftime show.
Harbaugh joked about Beyoncé possibly performing country songs, poking fun at Jackson’s excitement for her performance. The Ravens’ coach also reminisced about Beyoncé’s previous appearance at Super Bowl 47, where he led his team to a win. Despite Jackson’s starstruck behavior, Harbaugh remains focused on the game and will likely share words of wisdom with his quarterback in the coming days.
