Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has set a new single-season franchise record for touchdown passes, breaking his own record from the 2019 MVP season. The 37th touchdown pass of the season was achieved in a 34-17 win over rival Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jackson’s achievement came with a 7-yard strike to tight end Mark Andrews in the third quarter. Despite being under pressure, Jackson made several throws and led his team to victory.
The Steelers blitzed on 68% of Jackson’s drop-backs, which is a high rate for the Ravens this season. However, their defense held strong, with Jackson’s fourth-quarter interception not affecting the final outcome.
While not thrilled with his overall performance, Jackson acknowledged that he could have played better and expressed frustration with the one turnover that might have changed the game’s result. He praised his teammates, particularly Marlon Humphrey, for their excellent play.
Andrews, who scored his first career touchdown against the Steelers, praised Jackson’s ability to make plays under pressure. “He’s Houdini,” Andrews said. “Lamar did it again today.”
