Lamar Jackson’s Record-Breaking Performance Not Unprecedented

The Baltimore Ravens’ dominant win over the New York Giants on Sunday saw quarterback Lamar Jackson put up an impressive stat line. However, a tweet from the team claiming that Jackson became the first quarterback in NFL history to hit a series of records was quickly corrected by a Bills Mafia member.

According to the tweet, Jackson achieved 80% completion rate, 250 passing yards, five touchdowns, zero interceptions, and 50 rushing yards. However, Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills had already accomplished this feat in their Wild Card Weekend victory over the New England Patriots on January 15, 2022.

Allen matched or exceeded all of Jackson’s records, including a higher passer rating (157.6 vs 154.6) and quarterback rating (98.8 to 93.3). This performance was also notable as it came in the playoffs, while Jackson’s game against the Giants was against a team with a high draft pick.

The correction highlights that Josh Allen’s impressive performance on January 15, 2022, should not be overshadowed by Lamar Jackson’s recent success.
