Hall of Fame coach Jimmy Johnson is retiring from his broadcasting role on Fox after 31 years. The 81-year-old announced his decision on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” citing that it’s been a “great run” but he will miss the friends and colleagues at Fox.
Johnson, who first joined Fox in 1994, was part of the network’s NFL coverage for almost three decades, alongside host Curt Menefee and analysts Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, and Michael Strahan. He won numerous accolades throughout his career, including a national championship with the University of Miami, two Super Bowl championships with the Dallas Cowboys, and inductions into both the College Football Hall of Fame and Pro Football Hall of Fame.
A three-time NFL head coach, Johnson’s legacy extends beyond his on-air work. He is one of just three coaches to win both a national championship and a Super Bowl as head coach, a testament to his enduring impact on the sport.
