Lego Game Boy Set Released in October for $59.99

The first Lego Game Boy handheld console is expected to be released this October. According to FalconBrick Studios, a reliable source for pre-release information about Lego sets, the set will contain 421 pieces and cost $59.99. This price point is higher than typical Lego sets, with the Lego Harry Potter Knightbus Adventure set containing 499 pieces priced at $49.99.

The Game Boy is the second Nintendo console to be recreated in Lego form, following the release of the Lego NES in August 2020. The original Lego NES set included a brick-built model and an accompanying 1980’s-style television set with a scrolling Super Mario Bros scene.

This latest release marks the first time a Lego set has been based on a handheld Nintendo console. Other notable Nintendo-themed Lego sets include those based on Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Animal Crossing, The Legend of Zelda, and Mario Kart. A recent example is the Lego The Legend of Zelda: Great Deku tree set released last year.

Expect official images of the Game Boy set to appear online shortly before its release, which will likely coincide with pre-orders opening.
