Lenovo Legion Go S Review: A Gaming Handheld That Delivers Convenience

The Lenovo Legion Go S has become my go-to device for casual gaming on-the-go. As a PC gamer, I was hesitant to adopt a handheld console, but this device has won me over with its ability to deliver PC-quality gaming without the need for a dedicated desk setup.

I spent months researching and comparing various options, including the Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows devices. However, it was the Legion Go S that convinced me to make the switch. With an AMD Ryzen Z2 Go chip, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of drive space, this handheld packs a punch.

One of my primary concerns was the ability to play PC games on the device. Fortunately, I can access all my Steam library, including popular titles like Call of Duty and Battlefield. While loading times can be slow at times, the experience is still enjoyable, especially with a little tweaking of game settings.

The Legion Go S has also bridged the gap between lean-forward and lean-back gaming on the couch. With the addition of a dock, I can plug it directly into my TV for an immersive experience. While I do miss having a physical keyboard, the lack of one hasn’t been too much of an issue, as most games support touch controls.

While there are some compromises to consider, such as weight and bulkiness, I find that the Legion Go S is still a great option for casual gaming enthusiasts. With its ability to deliver PC-quality gaming without the hassle of a dedicated desk setup, it’s a device that truly delivers convenience – even if it doesn’t always feel like a traditional gaming experience.
