Lenovo Unveils Solar-Powered and Folding Screen Concept Laptops

Lenovo has showcased several concept laptops at the MWC event in Barcelona, including a laptop with a folding screen and another that can be powered by solar energy. The company aims to revolutionize productivity, multitasking, and AI-driven collaboration with its innovative designs.

At the heart of Lenovo’s concept is the ThinkBook AI PC Concept, codenamed “Flip”. This device features an outward folding OLED display that converts the 13-inch laptop into a 18.1-inch screen in portrait format. The Flip concept design is meant to optimize productivity, multitasking, and AI-driven collaboration.

On the other hand, Lenovo’s Yoga Solar PC Concept puts solar panels into the screen lid, allowing it to draw energy from sunlight. Although the device requires direct sunlight for optimal performance, Lenovo claims that even in low light conditions, the panel can generate power to sustain battery charge when the PC is idle. The Yoga Solar PC Concept is an ultraslim solar-powered PC that weighs 1.22 kg and is 15mm thick.

Additionally, Lenovo demoed a set of expansion proof-of-concept options for laptops called the Magic Bay ecosystem. These include a 13.3-inch secondary screen and a compact 8-inch screen serving as a dedicated AI dashboard. The company also showcased a ThinkBook 3D Laptop with a glasses-free hybrid display that allows users to switch between 2D and 3D modes.

However, it’s essential to note that these concept devices are not commercially available yet. Lenovo has confirmed that they will be available in the coming months but has not provided any details on availability or pricing.
