Lenovo Unveils ThinkBook Flip AI PC Concept with Dual-Screen Foldable Laptop

Lenovo is showcasing its futuristic ThinkBook Flip AI PC concept at MWC 2025, a dual-screen folding laptop that transforms into an ultra-tall panel or two back-to-back displays. The prototype device, seen by the author in a private meeting, demonstrated its unique features and operational challenges.

The ThinkBook Flip AI’s screen can unfold into a single 18.1-inch vertical panel, offering ample digital screen real estate for a compact laptop chassis. When folded, it creates a split display with two screens of 12.5 inches (A face) and 13 inches (B face). In the closed position, one screen faces inward while the other faces up as the “lid,” requiring extra protection.

The prototype is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, 32GB of memory, and Thunderbolt 4 ports for seamless connectivity. Despite its early-state development, Lenovo envisions this device empowering hybrid work environments and remote productivity. However, significant streamlining would be needed to make it market-ready.

The dual-screen design allows for various use cases, including controlling the LED touchpad’s functions. The system requires precise operations, such as a specific order of switching between modes, which may raise concerns about user adoption if not ironed out.

While Lenovo is unlikely to release this prototype as a product anytime soon, it provides an intriguing glimpse into the company’s vision for future laptops. For now, enthusiasts can enjoy the Flip AI PC concept in video footage and speculation about its potential development.
