Lenovo Unveils World’s First Ultraslim Solar Laptop

Lenovo has introduced a solar-powered laptop concept that harnesses the power of sunlight to provide up to an hour of video playback from just 20 minutes of direct sunlight. The Yoga Solar PC boasts an Intel Lunar Lake processor, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB storage drive, making it an ideal device for those looking to reduce their carbon footprint.

The solar panel in the laptop uses 84 back-contact solar cells to achieve a conversion rate of 24%, exceeding industry standards. This design allows the laptop to capture sunlight efficiently, even in low-light environments. The dynamic solar tracking system optimizes energy capture and ensures that the laptop remains powered during periods of inactivity.

One notable feature of the Yoga Solar PC is its ultra-thin design, with a thickness of just 15mm and a weight of around 2.29 pounds. This makes it an ideal device for those who want to take their laptop on the go. The laptop also comes equipped with a 14-inch OLED screen and can be powered by an external solar power kit concept.

While Lenovo has not committed to producing the Yoga Solar PC, the company will release the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 in June 2025, priced at $3,499. However, this device is still in development and its production timeline remains unclear.

Overall, Lenovo’s innovative approach to renewable energy and design showcases the potential for sustainable technology to revolutionize the way we live and work.
