Lewis Hamilton Slower Than Leclerc in Ferrari SF-25 Shakedown Times

Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton was found to be 0.8 seconds slower than new team-mate Charles Leclerc during a shakedown test at Ferrari’s Fiorano track, according to reports.

The shakedown test, which took place on Tuesday, allowed both drivers to get behind the wheel of the SF-25 car ahead of F1’s single pre-season test in Bahrain next Wednesday.

Hamilton and Leclerc were both running on special Pirelli tires for the shakedown, but the reported lap times have been met with skepticism due to the different programs carried out by Ferrari and McLaren during the test.

According to reports from Spanish publication Marca, Hamilton’s fastest lap was 8 tenths slower than Leclerc’s. However, the comparison has been deemed unrepresentative given that the tires used in the shakedown are not representative of those set for use during the F1 season.

This latest pace deficit between Hamilton and Leclerc comes after they compared times during a two-day tyre test at Barcelona last month. On the first day, Hamilton outpaced Leclerc by 0.130 seconds, but trailed his team-mate by 1.788 seconds on the second day.
