Lexus Unveils Electric and Hybrid ES Sedan for 2026

Lexus is revamping its mid-sized ES luxury sedan for the eighth generation, featuring a bold new design and a significant platform change. The updated model will be available in both all-electric and hybrid versions.

The 2026 ES boasts edgier styling inspired by the LF-ZC concept revealed in 2023. Its “spindle” front grille, spicy angles, and swooping rear design are notable features of the new sedan. Lexus has chosen a modified version of Toyota’s TNGA GA-K platform to accommodate both electric and hybrid drivetrains.

The ES will utilize a lightweight 2.5-liter hybrid system in its standard model, while the electric variant will have increased battery capacity. The company estimates that the 350e model, equipped with larger wheels, has an impressive range of up to 300 miles on a single charge.

Inside, the new ES features a sleek instrument display and a responsive infotainment touchscreen. Luxurious amenities include bamboo door panels made from 3D-printed materials and Mark Levinson surround sound audio.

Lexus plans to launch the updated ES before March 2026, including in the US market. The company is also expected to release another electric vehicle, potentially based on an upcoming three-row SUV, further solidifying its commitment to electrification.
