LG Display Confirms New Four-Layer OLED Panel Tech

LG Display has confirmed its development of a new four-layer OLED panel structure, which was first showcased by Panasonic at CES 2025. This technology increases brightness while improving efficiency, and is expected to enhance the performance of upcoming TVs.

The new panel features independent red, green, and blue layers, offering improved color brightness and energy efficiency. LG Display claims this fourth-generation OLED panel can reach up to 4,000 nits of brightness, surpassing previous models by a significant margin. This improvement in brightness is expected to significantly enhance the overall viewing experience.

Furthermore, the new four-layer structure allows for a decrease in blue light emission, which can help reduce eye strain. To further improve black-level performance, LG Display has developed an ultra-low reflection film that blocks 99% of internal and external light reflections.
