Lights on Kankakee Returns for Second Year

The Illinois Coalition for Community Services (ICCS) will host its second annual fundraiser, “Lights on Kankakee Part Two,” in March at Rigo’s Place in Kankakee. The event aims to highlight the city’s positive relationships and resources that make it a great place to live.

ICCS Fundraising Director Rhonda Currie says the organization is working to address youth violence and delinquency through various initiatives, including community meetings, partnerships with local organizations, and programs for young adults. Currie notes that serving individuals aged 11-24 can be challenging, but ICCS has been successful in engaging this age group through referrals, employment guides, and events.

The fundraiser will feature a buffet dinner, open bar happy hour, and a “Lights on Kankakee” program from 6:45-7:45 p.m. The event is open to the public, with tickets priced at $80 per person, which are tax-deductible donations.

ICCS is a 501c3 nonprofit organization providing free social services in rural and metropolitan Illinois. For more information, visit https://www.iccscares.org.
