Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Hill, was taken into custody and hospitalized early Thursday morning after being seen wandering naked down Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles. The singer, 21, was arrested for battery of an officer and was suspected of a potential overdose.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that an incoherent, nude man was taken into custody around 5:50 a.m., matching the description of Lil Nas X from footage obtained by TMZ. He remained in the Van Nuys jail as of Thursday evening, with his condition unknown.
Before being arrested, Lil Nas X had posted several random Instagram posts, including song snippets and pictures of his home. On Wednesday, he flooded his page with music content, wearing the same white cowboy boots seen on Thursday’s video.
The artist’s representatives have not returned requests for comment on the incident.
