Lil Nas X Pleads Not Guilty in Court Amid Battery Charges

Lil Nas X has pleaded not guilty to three felony counts of battery against a police officer and one count of resisting arrest, following his arrest last week after a bizarre incident in Studio City. The 26-year-old singer and rapper, whose real name is Montero Hill, was seen walking nearly nude down Ventura Boulevard, prompting officers to intervene.

Hill appeared in a Van Nuys courtroom on Monday, where he faced the charges. His bail was set at $75,000, and he was ordered to attend four Narcotics Anonymous meetings per week or participate in outpatient treatment.

The arrest occurred after Hill charged towards arriving police officers, who suspected a possible overdose. He was taken to a hospital first before being taken into custody. The Grammy-winning artist has released from the hospital but remains in jail until his next court hearing in mid-September.

Hill is best known for his 2018 hit “Old Town Road,” which spent 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He has also gained recognition for his innovative sounds and style, with his first full studio album, “Montero,” reaching No. 2 on the Billboard album chart in 2021.
