Subaru has unveiled the latest edition of its high-performance WRX STI model, dubbed the S210. This limited-edition variant will be produced in a global cap of 500 units, with regional allocations yet to be determined.
Under the hood, the S210 boasts a 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer engine, featuring a reworked intake, exhaust system, and controller that pumps out 300 horsepower through the Subaru Performance Transmission. This marks the first time a WRX STI has featured a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which Subaru has retuned to better suit the increased power output.
The S210’s exterior is distinguished by 19-inch STI Flexible Performance Wheels wrapped in 255/35 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, and its suspension has been reworked with new springs and electronically tuned dampers. Rear stabilizer bushings also make an appearance.
Inside, drivers will find Recaro eight-way power seating in the front, accompanied by carbon-fiber backrests and red accents on black upholstery.
While excitement surrounding the S210’s arrival is palpable, there’s some concern over the limited availability of this model. Global production will be capped at 500 units, with regional allocations yet to be announced. However, Subaru hopes to ship some units to the United States, a move that would follow the successful introduction of the WRX STI S209 in North America.
As fans eagerly await more information on the S210’s availability, one thing is certain: this latest iteration of the WRX STI promises to deliver high-performance thrills.
