Lions Roar Back to Beat Bears 34-17 for Franchise Record

The Detroit Lions continued their dominance in the NFC with a thrilling 34-17 win over the Chicago Bears, securing a franchise-record 13th victory. Jared Goff threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns, while Jameson Williams had a career-high 143 yards receiving on five catches.

The Lions took control early against the struggling Bears, who lost their ninth game in a row. The team’s trick play, which saw Goff intentionally stumble while dropping back, paid off with a 21-yard touchdown to Sam LaPorta. The Lions also improved to 7-0 away from home, a franchise record for road wins.

Coach Dan Campbell praised the team’s resilience and competitive spirit, saying that this was “what it’s all about” for his players. Goff added that while Washington’s win over Philadelphia helped boost their playoff hopes, they couldn’t afford to lose focus on their own games.

The Lions’ victory broke a tie with the 1991 and 2023 teams for the most wins in franchise history. They also set a single-season record for scoring with 493 points. The team will look to continue their winning streak next Monday night against San Francisco, who they beat in last year’s NFC championship game.

The Bears, meanwhile, struggled to find positives despite an improved outing from Caleb Williams, who threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns. Keenan Allen had a season-high 141 yards receiving, but the team fell to 0-3 under interim coach Thomas Brown.
