Local High School Students Shine at Annual ‘Got Talent’ Showcase

Students and staff of the William S. Hart Union High School District gathered to showcase their talents at the annual Hart District’s Got Talent Variety Showcase presented by the WiSH Education Foundation. The event took place on Tuesday evening, where each singer and dancer perfected their solos, duets, and trios during an hours-long stage tech rehearsal.

The second annual showcase is set to take place at Saugus High School on Friday at 6 p.m. The event aims to give local students and staff members a chance to show off their talents in an uplifting environment. WiSH Education Foundation CEO Amy Daniels stated that the goal is to provide an opportunity for performers to shine under the lights, regardless of their level of performance expertise.

The showcase features a diverse range of performers, including seventh-grade students Aarya Mehta and Diya Balamurugan from Rancho Pico Junior High School. The duo, “The Hart Breakers,” delivered a Bollywood and semi-classical performance mixed with hip-hop, hoping to share their culture with the audience.

Campus Supervisor Patrick Seidenkranz of Placerita Canyon Junior High School also took the stage, singing a cover of Ray Charles’ “Georgia on My Mind.” He expressed his gratitude to the Hart district for its support during a difficult time in his life when his wife underwent a heart and kidney transplant.

Other performers, including freshman Alfredo Reveles from Canyon High School, shared their own unique talents. Reveles plans to deliver a bilingual vocal performance with songs by Dean Martin and Pedro Infante, hoping to share Mexican culture with the audience and have fun.

The WiSH Education Foundation’s Got Talent show aims to bring the community together and provide an opportunity for students to shine under the lights. Tickets are available on the organization’s website: www.wisheducationfoundation.org/wish-showcase.
