A 23-year-old Australian university student has been found alive after surviving for two weeks in the wilderness, relying on berries and muesli bars he had scavenged from other hikers.
Hadi Nazari was reported missing by his group of friends on December 26 in Kosciuszko National Park. The park, which features Australia’s tallest mountain at 2,228 meters, is notorious for its rugged terrain and unpredictable weather conditions.
Nazari was found safe and sound on Wednesday afternoon after a search effort involving over 300 people. Police said he showed “really good spirits” despite his ordeal, with no significant injuries.
Inspector Josh Broadfoot praised the authorities who worked tirelessly to locate Nazari, saying it was an incredible relief that the young man had survived for so long. The discovery is a testament to human resilience and the determination of those who were searching for him.
