Don’t Nod’s narrative adventure game Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is set to release its second episode, or tape, on April 15th as part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. The first episode ended with a cliffhanger, leaving players wondering what to expect from Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat’s next escapade.
Creative Director Michel Koch shared insights into how this experience would differ from the first episode. “The second half is called ‘Rage’, which is mostly the aftermath of the cliffhanger at the end of Tape 1. We wanted Tape 2 to focus more on this weirder part of the story, with supernatural elements becoming more important.”
Koch emphasized that players will see more of how their choices in tape one affect the overall narrative. “A lot of those [choice] options will change the course of what’s happening in Tape 2.” The game’s pacing is also expected to be brisker, with higher stakes.
The camcorder, a crucial plot and gameplay element in the first episode, will play an even more significant role in tape two. Koch described it as Swann’s “weapon” or “shield,” using it to film people but also hiding behind it. The game will feature more puzzles, including one that blends interaction, movement, and dialogue.
The narrative will still focus on the friends reuniting in a bar 27 years later. There will be four different main endings, with variations based on player choices. Koch expressed his hopes for players to enjoy seeing how their relationship choices and morality choices play out in tape two.
Overall, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Tape 2 promises to bring more surprises and satisfaction for fans of the game, with its increased focus on supernatural elements and player choices.
