LSU extended its winning streak to 15 games with a 10-5 victory over Missouri in Alex Box Stadium on Sunday. Ethan Frey tied his career high with three hits, including a double and two RBI, as the Tigers improved to 20-1 overall and 3-0 in the SEC.
The Tigers’ 15-game win streak is their longest since the 2017 team won 17 consecutive games. Coach Jay Johnson praised Frey’s clutch performance, saying he was “great” and mentioned that Frey wasn’t even in the lineup the previous day.
LSU’s pitching staff also stepped up, with Conner Ware earning his second straight win as a relief pitcher. Freshman Mavrick Rizy and Zac Cowan closed out the game, allowing only one run between them.
The Tigers’ victory marked their first three-game sweep of an SEC opponent since 2019, when they swept Kentucky. Missouri dropped to 8-11 and 0-3 in the SEC.
“It’s all about how you respond to challenges,” Coach Johnson said. “I thought our team showed up and responded well to this challenge.”
