Lucasfilm and The Walt Disney Company have reached a mutual agreement with Gina Carano to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies. The lawsuit, filed in 2024 by Carano, alleged wrongful termination and discrimination after she was fired from “The Mandalorian” in 2021.
Carano had previously shared several controversial social media posts, including one that compared being a Republican to being Jewish during the Holocaust. She also claimed Disney attempted to control her speech, stating that they would fire her if she expressed dissenting views.
However, Carano has now reached an agreement with Disney, which includes funding for her lawsuit by Elon Musk and others. In a statement, Lucasfilm praised Carano’s professionalism and kindness towards colleagues during her time on the show.
The settlement marks an end to the highly publicized dispute between Carano and Disney, allowing both parties to move forward in a positive direction. With this agreement, Lucasfilm looks forward to exploring opportunities to work with Carano in the near future.
