Lucid Motors has revealed an off-road version of its luxury electric vehicle, the Gravity SUV. The news comes as a response to a report claiming that only nine Gravity SUVs were sold in the first six months of production. In a forceful denial, Lucid’s Vice President for Communication, Nick Twork, stated that the actual number of sales is “well into the 3-digit range.”
The off-road concept features redesigned front and rear fascias, improved approach and departure angles, a widened track, lifted ride height, and custom wheels with all-terrain tires. The redesign aims to enhance the SUV’s capability and versatility for off-road adventures.
Lucid’s recent earnings call acknowledged supply chain constraints, including a magnet shortage, are improving, and deliveries are expected to increase in the second half of the year. Twork also emphasized that the Gravity is likely to drive sales growth for the company in the coming months.
