Rapper Lupe Fiasco is set to join the faculty of Johns Hopkins University’s Peabody Institute as a distinguished visiting professor in 2025. Fiasco will teach a four-year hip-hop program that focuses on developing students’ musical skills and business acumen.
The program, which follows a one-on-one studio model, allows students to work closely with private instructors and gain industry experience. As part of the program, rap majors can collaborate with chart-topping emcees, including Fiasco himself. Applications for the program are due on January 3.
Fiasco is also an appointed Saybrook Fellow at Yale University and a visiting professor at MIT’s Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He will continue to teach his existing courses while expanding his academic presence through this new role.
