Lynchburg Community Comes Together to Honor Fallen Student Cash Gaudio

A sea of orange filled the area as attendees remembered 19-year-old Cash Gaudio, a Lynchburg Christian Academy student who was tragically killed in his driveway in September. The “Gears for Gaudio” event was one way the community honored Cash’s legacy.

Cash’s mother, Shannon Meyers, said seeing an orange car every time she leaves her house is a comforting reminder of her son. Evan Fleming, a friend of Cash’s, described the event as beautiful and moving, saying it would have made Cash happy to see so many people gathered in his honor.

The community came together to show their support for Cash’s family, with proceeds from the event benefiting the Live Like Cash Gaudio Foundation, which provides scholarship funds for student-athletes. The foundation is a testament to the outpouring of love and care that Cash had inspired in those around him. Despite the difficulty of the day, Cash’s loved ones expressed gratitude for the community’s support during their time of unimaginable grief.
