Mac McClung Wins Slam Dunk Contest History for Third Year

Mac McClung made history by becoming the first person to win the NBA Slam Dunk contest three years in a row, securing a perfect score across all four rounds. The 26-year-old Osceola Magic guard stunned fans with his flawless dunking skills, including a memorable attempt where he jumped over both a volunteer and a car to reverse dunk the ball.

McClung’s love for dunking fuels his creativity and success in the contest. “I think when you love something and that’s your action, then you can kind of be better at it than you usually would,” he said after his win.

The competition was fierce, with San Antonio Spurs rookie Stephon Castle coming close to dethroning McClung. Castle finished second with a score of 99.6 across the final two rounds.

However, not all the news from NBA All-Star weekend was positive. Victor Wembanyama and Chris Paul were disqualified from the skills challenge for attempting an invalid tactic to minimize their time spent shooting. The pair thought they had come up with a strategy that would win them the event but ultimately lost out due to the rules.

Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro won the three-point contest, while Damian Lillard failed in his attempt to win the contest three years in a row and was eliminated after round one.
