Mac Studio (M3 Ultra) Review: A Powerhouse for Professionals

Apple’s latest top-tier Mac Studio is a beast of a computer, packing immense computing power that will appeal mainly to tech enthusiasts and professionals. The machine starts at $3,999 but can be upgraded to its fullest potential for a staggering $14,099.

This isn’t a computer for the average consumer. It’s designed for those who recognize how it can streamline their workflow and increase productivity. For heavy users, the investment may pay off quickly with faster export times and completed projects in no time.

The Mac Studio is particularly impressive in resource-intensive applications like video editing. In our 4K export test, it broke the one-minute barrier in Premiere Pro. However, for most people looking for a desktop Mac, we recommend opting for the M4 Mac Mini or its upgraded versions.

For those who need extra power, the M4 Max edition of the Studio is recommended. It comes with a more conventional price tag of $1,999, making it a better value than the Ultra model. Despite not targeting this machine’s intended audience, I couldn’t resist getting my hands on the Mac Studio after Apple’s recent product announcements.
