Macy’s announced plans to close 66 stores across the US, including two locations in the Baltimore area. The Harford Mall and Security Square Mall in Woodlawn will shut down by the end of the first quarter. This decision affects more than 20 states. Although Macy’s declined to comment on job losses, nearby residents have long advocated for the redevelopment of the struggling mall, which has over 100 shops and restaurants but fails to attract a large shopper base.
