Magic Narrow Gap in Celtics Playoffs

The Orlando Magic have narrowed the deficit in their Eastern Conference playoffs against the Boston Celtics, winning 95-93 on Friday. The Celtics had come back from a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 91-91 before Franz Wagner’s consecutive scores sealed the win.

Jayson Tatum returned from injury and scored 21 points in the first half, but LeBron James’ 38 points was not enough to overcome the Magic. The Lakers had lost earlier, with Jaden McDaniels scoring 30 points and Anthony Edwards leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 2-1 lead over Los Angeles.

The Eastern Conference sees a similar story unfolding in Orlando, as the Milwaukee Bucks won 117-101 over Indiana Pacers on Friday. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 37 points and Gary Trent Jr tied a franchise play-off record with nine three-pointers, restricting Tyrese Haliburton to 14 points. The Magic will look to cut the deficit further when they host the Celtics again in Sunday’s match.
