Wizards of the Coast and IGN have announced four new Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Commander decks, each inspired by iconic characters from popular Final Fantasy games.
The first deck, Revival Trance, is led by Terra from Final Fantasy VI. This Mardu deck focuses on graveyard synergies, allowing players to revive fallen heroes.
In contrast, the Limit Break deck, led by Cloud from Final Fantasy VII, revolves around weapon synergies and raising stats above 7 power.
The third deck, Counter Blitz, features Tidus as its leader and is inspired by the popular mini-game Blitzball from Final Fantasy X. This Bant deck aims to put counters on creatures and pass them around like in a game of Blitzball.
Lastly, the Scions & Spellcraft deck, led by Y’shtola from Final Fantasy XIV, takes on a controlling role with its Esper deck, leveraging card advantage to become a master caster.
All four decks will retail for $69.99 as regular versions and $149.99 for their Special Editions, which feature Magic’s surge foiling treatment. The Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Commander sets are scheduled to release on June 13.
