Magic: The Gathering’s Final Fantasy Starter Kit Leaked Early

Magic: The Gathering’s highly anticipated crossover set with Square Enix’s Final Fantasy franchise has made its debut, but not in the way fans expected. A shipment of cards from the upcoming Final Fantasy Starter Kit for Magic: The Gathering reportedly leaked two months early, giving fans a sneak peek at the deck’s contents.

The leaked cards feature popular Final Fantasy characters such as Cloud and Sephiroth as main commanders, along with other beloved franchises like Freya, Beatrix, Ultimecia, and Lightning. The starter kit includes two ready-to-play decks, one led by Cloud in a Red and White deck and the other commanded by Sephiroth in a Blue and Black deck.

Fans can expect more content when the full Magic: The Gathering crossover set with Final Fantasy launches on June 13. The expansion will feature four Commander Decks and will include iconic moments from the franchise, such as Sabin’s Suplex of the Phantom Train, as spell cards.

While the leaked cards are not officially announced by Wizards of Coast, they give fans a glimpse into what to expect when the full set is released.
