A new spin on the MAGA hat has gained popularity worldwide, featuring the phrase “Make America Go Away”. The original “Make America Great Again” hats worn by Donald Trump have become a symbol of patriotism for his supporters. However, critics have launched their own anti-MAGA hats, which are now being sold online and at protests.
The parody hats, including ones with maple leaf designs, were inspired by a post shared on Facebook before the visit of US Vice President JD Vance and his wife to Greenland. The post called on citizens to show disinterest in the couple’s visit to avoid appearing pro-American.
In Canada, the “Make America Go Away” hat is being sold online for around ₹1,000 each, with descriptions highlighting its bold political statement as a symbol of anti-Trump sentiment. Another version features the phrase “Canada Is Not For Sale”. The hats gained popularity after US President Donald Trump’s comment about Canada being a potential 51st state, which critics saw as a threat to Canadian sovereignty.
