Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 Search Resumes After 11 Years

After an 11-year hiatus, a new search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 has begun in the Indian Ocean. A ship from American company Ocean Infinity arrived at the suspected crash site, deploying advanced robot subs to scan the seabed using sonar waves. The goal is to locate the wreckage and black boxes, solving the mystery behind the plane’s disappearance.

The first search launched over a decade ago was unsuccessful, despite initial optimism. Scientists used automatic radio signals sent by the plane to determine its route, concluding that the wreckage likely lies in the southern Indian Ocean. Australia led the search, hiring Dutch company Fugro to drag underwater sensors over a 46,000-square-mile area. However, the plane was never found, and the search zone was expanded twice without success. The effort was abandoned in 2017, leaving officials with doubts about their initial assumptions.
