Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s Cause of Death Revealed as Accidental Drowning

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the actor known for his role in ‘The Cosby Show’, died on Sunday at 54 after a drowning incident off the coast of Costa Rica. He was swimming with his 8-year-old daughter when two surfers spotted them struggling and intervened to help. One surfer used their board to bring Warner’s daughter to safety, while another volunteer lifeguard pulled Warner and a fellow surfer to shore. Despite receiving 45 minutes of CPR, Warner was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital. An autopsy confirmed asphyxiation by submersion, ruled an accidental death. The incident occurred near Cocles beach in Limon, Costa Rica, when Warner got caught in a rip current on Sunday afternoon. Bystanders rescued him before he was declared dead by the local Red Cross.
